Hey! I'm Kell.
I have been teaching Health & PE and Community & Family Studies
here in NSW, Australia since 2004.
Early on I would ramble on in class talking at my students and
only using the textbook as a mode of teaching.
I had NO IDEA what I was doing. TRUST ME.
When I was on maternity leave with our eldest daughter Cass,
I discovered the power of formative assessment and fell in love...
Embedding formative assessment absolutely transformed my teaching and my students' love of learning and results.
Over the last 12 years I have supported K-12 teachers through resource development, professional learning, presenting, MasterClasses and as the co-author of two CAFS textbooks.
Since 2007 I have marked the CAFS HSC, have done judging and was the NSW Supervisor of Marking for HSC Community and
Family Studies from 2018-2022.
My dream to help teachers full-time became a reality when I left the classroom in July 2020! These days I support thousands of teachers and their students inside The Learning Network.
